Derivation: Derived from spontaneous tumors arising in the Vk*MYC transgenic mouse model, which carries the MYC oncogene under control of the immunoglobulin kappa light chain gene enhancer and spontaneously develops plasma cell tumors highly similar to human multiple myeloma. Vk12598 is one transplantable clone maintained in C57BL/6 mice by serial passage -5
Morphology: Plasma cell-like morphology, suspension or weak adherent growth

Characteristics:
