Quality Control: Quality control strain according to DIN 58959-7 standard; used for sterility testing, fungicide testing, sulfur assay
Enzyme Production: Produces β-glucosidase; produces carboxymethylcellulase, β-glucosidase, and xylanase from petroleum and palm oil waste; produces extracellular lipase
Organic Acid Production: Produces citric acid and citrates
Environmental Applications: Degrades starch in wastewater; aluminum leaching from red mud; trace element nutrition studies
NBRC Historical Note: NBRC 6341 was designated for use in JIS Z 2911 antifungal test standards. Gene analyses implemented as part of the quality management system by NBRC revealed that this strain had been mistakenly replaced by another strain of the same species before it was deposited to IFO (the predecessor collection of NBRC). Following assessment, NBRC recommends using the alternative strain NBRC 105649 for antifungal tests
