Series Overview: Acral Melanoma (AM) is a distinct subtype of melanoma arising from non-hair-bearing skin (palms, soles, nail beds). Unlike cutaneous melanoma, AM has a low UV-signature mutational burden and high structural genomic variations, making these BioVector® lines essential for studying this Asian-prevalent malignancy.
Species: Human (Homo sapiens).
Representative Models:
BioVector® AM-derived lines: Including patient-derived xenograft (PDX) stable lines established by institutions like the Peking University Cancer Hospital.
Genomic Profile:
Driver Mutations: Frequently feature KIT mutations/amplification, CCND1 amplification, and CDKN2A loss. BRAF mutations are significantly less common than in cutaneous subtypes.
Genomic Instability: Characterized by complex structural variations and copy number alterations (CNA).
Cell Culture Data:
