BioVector® LU2511 refers to a patient-derived xenograft (PDX) model, not a traditional in vitro cell line. It is a lung cancer model that is grown in mice.
Key characteristics of the LU2511 PDX model
Origin: The model was derived from a 49-year-old female patient with a large cell undifferentiated lung carcinoma.
Source tissue: The sample was taken from the patient's lung.
Histopathology: Pathological analysis of the tumor tissue confirmed it to be a large cell undifferentiated carcinoma. The tumor mass was described as being 7cm x 6cm x 6cm.
Immunohistochemistry (IHC): The tumor was positive for the markers CK and EMA, and negative for Vim and CK7. It was also positive for Syn and negative for CD56. P63 staining was weak.
Tumor growth: The PDX model is grown in Balb/c nu mice and is used to study the biological features of this type of lung cancer in vivo.
Research applications
