NTCC® NUTI-19-luc cell line

The NuTu-19-luc cell line is a luciferase-expressing variant of the NuTu-19 ovarian adenocarcinoma cell line
. It is derived from a rat model and is used in cancer research, particularly for in vivo bioluminescence imaging (BLI) studies.
Origin and characteristics
  • Source: The parental NuTu-19 line was developed from a spontaneous ovarian surface epithelial cell tumor in a female Fischer 344 rat.

  • Cell Type: Rat ovarian adenocarcinoma epithelial cell line.

  • Luciferase Expression: The NuTu-19-luc line has been transduced to constitutively express the firefly luciferase gene. This genetic modification allows the cells to produce a bioluminescent signal, which can be detected with specialized imaging equipment when the substrate luciferin is added.

Primary applications
The addition of the luciferase reporter gene makes the NuTu-19-luc cell line particularly valuable for the following research applications:
