The NTCC® K562-IL15 cell line is a genetically engineered variant of the K562 cell line. It is a valuable tool in immunology research, particularly in the field of natural killer (NK) cell biology.

K562IL15 cells

K562 Cell Line:

• Origin: Derived from a patient with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML).

• Characteristics: Does not express MHC class I molecules, making it a suitable target for NK cell cytotoxicity assays.


K562-IL15 cells

IL-15 Transduction:

• IL-15: Interleukin-15 is a cytokine that plays a crucial role in the development, survival, and activation of NK cells.

• Transduction: K562 cells are genetically modified to express IL-15 on their surface.

Applications of K562-IL15 Cells:

1. NK Cell Expansion:

   • K562-IL15 cells are used as feeder cells to expand NK cells in vitro.

   • The membrane-bound IL-15 provides continuous stimulation to NK cells, promoting their proliferation and activation.
