MecPK is a mouse endometrial carcinoma cell line derived from a transgenic mouse with a homozygous PTEN deletion and an activating K-Ras mutation. The cell line was established in 2012 from the endometrial tumor of the mouse.

Here are some other endometrial cancer cell lines:
  • Ishikawa
    Established from an endometrial adenocarcinoma from a 39-year-old woman, this cell line induces well differentiated adenocarcinoma in athymic nude mice.
  • KLE
    Derived from a poorly differentiated endometrial carcinoma, this cell line is aneuploid with chromosome numbers ranging from 51 to 66.
  • MFE-296
    Derived from a moderately differentiated human endometrial adenocarcinoma, these cells are tumorigenic in nude mice.
Other frequently used endometrial cell lines include HEC-1-A, HEC-1-B, HES, and hTERT-EEC.
When comparing the biology of murine and human tumors, it's important to consider that humans live longer than mice and rats, and undergo much more cell divisions. This can mean that tumors might develop and evolve differently in humans and mice.
