Instead of removing lipopolysaccharide (LPS) contamination from your
plasmid DNA preparations, eliminate the LPS at the source. ClearColi™
K-12 cells are the fi rst commercially available competent cells with a
modifi ed LPS that produces functionally clean plasmids. ClearColi cells
lack outer membrane agonists for hTLR4/MD-2 activation; therefore,
activation of hTLR4/MD-2 signalling by ClearColi™ is several orders of
magnitude lower compared with E. coli wild-type cells, and plasmids
prepared from ClearColi are virtually free of endotoxic activity.
Standard, non-endotoxin free plasmid prep methods can be used to
produce clean plasmids ready for use in most downstream applications
without eliciting an endotoxic response
Applications of ClearColi K-12 cells:
• Cloning and plasmid production
• Mammalian transfection without endotoxin cleanup
• Transient mammalian protein expression
